PCB Design Services


Cybertec has vast experience in the design of electronic circuits. This experience enables us to swiftly aid our clients in the design and production of their PCBs.

Cybertec uses a tried and proven design process, with stringent checks to ensure only the highest quality designs are provided to the client. This is always done in consultation with the client.

The design process follows a number of steps:

Specification
Cybertec will work with the clients to fully specify the design or the scope of work for the task. This ensures that we both know what is expected from each party. In many cases we are also able to offer advice and help from our experience, or sometimes just offer another helpful point of view.

Design Capture
Cybertec uses the Protel suite of software for its designs. In accordance with the agreed requirements specification we will design and capture the circuit. This includes the generation of any component libraries needed. Once the circuit is complete we review it with the client.

PCB Layout and Mechanical Design
The next step is the definition of the PCB mechanical size and any special requirements for the PCB that need to be included. The circuit is then layed out and routed. Cybertec augments the basic design checks provided by Protel with a series of manual checks of its own to ensure that the completed design meets the design requirements.

Manufacturing Package Generation
On completion of the finalised PCB it is reviewed by both Cybertec and the client. When the PCB is approved, a complete manufacturing package is generated ready to send off to the PCB manufacturer. The design archive package includes:

  • the Protel design archive file
  • circuit schematics
  • A PCB manufacturing drawing, listing board size, technology, layers and materials
  • Gerber and drill files
  • ATE test point files
  • pick and place files
  • schematic and PCB component libraries
  • assembly drawings
  • mechanical drawings
  • Bills of material
  • Panelisation drawings

Additional Services
As a further service, Cybertec uses and recommends a number of PCB manufacturers, PCB assembly houses and metalwork manufacturers, which we can liaise with on the clients' behalf.
